Absence Manager

Overview

The Absence Management API enables organizations to manage leave requests, approvals, and employee leave tracking through Workday and Salesforce. It automates leave processes and ensures real-time data synchronization.

Key Features:

• Leave Retrieval by Type: Fetch available leave types and PTO balances.

• Submit Leave Request: Employees can submit requests through a self-service portal.

• Manager Approvals & Case Management: Managers review and approve requests within Salesforce.

• Automated Workflows: Ensures streamlined request handling and updates Workday records upon approval.

Employee Request Process Flow:

• The employee logs in to the self-service portal and navigates to the leave request section.

• The MuleSoft API retrieves leave types and PTO balances from Workday.

• The employee selects the leave type and enters the requested dates.

• The system validates the request against Workday policies, for example, available balance or date eligibility.

• The request is submitted and a case is created in Salesforce for tracking.

• The manager receives a notification and approves or rejects the request.

• Upon approval, Workday records are updated, and the employee is notified.

• If the request is rejected, the employee receives a notification with the reason for rejection.

If the integration fails, HR is notified that manual intervention is needed.
This integration helps HR teams reduce manual processing efforts and improves the overall employee experience.
