The API Manager API enables you to manage an API by applying policies, setting SLAs and configuring alerts for your API instances.
Using the API Manager API, you can apply different categories of policies:
- Compliance policies: include Cross-Origin resource sharing and Client ID enforcement
- Quality of Service policies: include Rate Limiting and Throttling (can be applied based on specific SLAs)
- Security policies: include whitelisting, blacklisting and different security managers like LDAP
You can also monitor your APIs by placing alerts on them. For example, place alerts based on policy violation to receive notifications about unusual traffic or response times. This enables you to react quickly to system degradation.
To begin using the API, see the General Overview section.
