DFAS Direct Fibre Access Service A main optical fibre distribution frame (MOFDF) at an exchange fibre that terminates on a connector beyond the external termination point (ETP) at an end userโ€™s premises.
DSL Digital Subscriber Line A family of communications technologies allowing high-speed data over existing copper-based access networks in the local loop.
FRE Fault Related Event In the context of the Assurance API, a FRE is a type of unplanned event, impacting multiple users. This may be caused, for example by damage to Chorus network equipment.
GLID Global Identifier The unique identifier used for diagnostic sessions.
ICABS Intra Candidate Area Backhaul Service A dark fibre or bandwidth managed service which enables RSPs to connect a customer in one exchange area to their equipment located in another exchange area within the same candidate (UFB) area. Often used to extend DFAS, BFAS, CRT past the exchange these services terminate.
INC Incident A type of unplanned event.
JSON Java Script Object Notation An open-standard file format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects.

Each resource is identified by one or more Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs).
VDSL Very High Speed Digital Subscriber Line A digital subscriber line (DSL) technology providing faster data transmission over a single flat untwisted or twisted pair of copper wires.
WAN Wide Area Network This is configuration available on the RGW that allows connectivity to an RSPs core network or data network.
