Glossary
This glossary provides handy definitions to understand more about our API, cut through the jargon, and make the terminology easier to understand.

API | Application Programming Interface | Method for computer systems to exchange data using defined standards and formats. |
CSE | Customer Service Experience | Customer Service Experience, also known as Chorus Service Experience. |
ID | Identifier | Set of numbers or letters (or combination of both) used to represent a piece of data. |
MDU | Multi Dwelling Unit | A building that contains multiple residences or businesses. |
ONT | Optical Network Terminal | Equipment owned by Chorus and installed at a customer’s premise. Typically, an ONT is connected to and terminating the Chorus Fibre Network and delivering Ethernet connectivity to a customer premise router typically provided to the customer by their RSP of choice. |
Place ID | Place ID | Unique 9-digit location identifier used in Chorus fibre systems. Also known as Telecom Location Code (TLC). |
Product ID | Product Instance ID | Unique 10-digit identifier within Chorus to represent an active service with an RSP. |
RFS | Ready for Service | An order that does not require a site visit or a CSE, an intact order, an order without a truckroll associated. |
ROW | Right of Way | A right of way (ROW) is an easement that allows the owner of one property the right to pass over a specified area of another property. Multiple dwellings may share a common ROW space, such as a shared driveway. |
RSP | Retail Service Provider | A business/organisation that is a reseller of Chorus fibre products. |
