IATA’s Airline Coding Directory (ACD) is the official industry source for airline designator codes, three-digit airline numeric codes, and location identifier codes.

There are over 11,000 location codes assigned to airports, heliports, train stations, bus terminals, and metropolitan areas. There are over 1,100 airline codes assigned to airline passenger and cargo carriers, railway, ferry, and bus companies.

IATA is the sole administrator and owner of the ACD codes used by the transportation industry in reservations, scheduling, and tariffs publishing.

The IATA Airline Coding Directory (ACD) made available via this version of the ACD application programming interface (API) (collectively the “Materials”) are intended for evaluation purposes during the open access period which ends on February 28th, 2020. No user or other parties should act on the basis of any information or data contained in the Materials without referring to applicable laws and regulations, and/or without taking appropriate professional advice.

The International Air Transport Association (“IATA”) shall not be held responsible for any loss or damage (including, without limitation, to the user’s computer and electronic systems) caused by errors, omissions, defects, malfunctions, viruses, glitches, or other problems or deficiencies in the Materials. Furthermore, IATA expressly disclaims any and all liability to any person or entity, whether a purchaser of any ACD product or not, in respect of anything done or omitted and the consequences of anything done or omitted, by any such person or entity in reliance on the Materials. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL IATA BE LIABLE FOR ANY DAMAGES WHATSOEVER (INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF BUSINESS PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF BUSINESS INFORMATION, ANY OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, OR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, EXEMPLARY, PUNITIVE, THIRD PARTY OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES) ARISING OUT OF THE USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE MATERIALS, EVEN IF IATA HAS BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. The Materials are the property of IATA and/or its licensors, and all rights, title, and interest in and to the Materials, including, without limitation, all intellectual property rights and any accompanying written or printed materials, are owned by IATA and/or its licensors.

The user of the Materials agrees to treat the Materials in the same manner as any other material protected by intellectual property laws and treaties. The user of these Materials shall not provide access to, or otherwise disseminate, the Materials to any other party, and shall cease all use of the Materials upon expiry of the open access period as set out above. Upon request by IATA, and its discretion, all Materials shall be immediately returned to IATA or destroyed.
