With Cloud API, your POS system communicates with the payment terminal over the internet.

With an integration that uses cloud communications, your POS software and the payment terminal communicate with each other over the internet:

  1. Your POS software makes an API request to the Market Pay payments platform.
  2. The Market Pay payments platform routes the request to your payment terminal, to initiate the payment.
  3. The terminal sends the transaction to the Market Pay payments platform for processing.
  4. Your POS software receives the result of the transaction.
