Glossary
The table below describes terms commonly used throughout this documentation:

Activity | An activity sits under the task in the Work Request structure. Activities are controlled by work suppliers. | |
API | Application Programming Interface | Method for computer systems to exchange data using defined standards and formats. |
API Consumer | An individual from an organisation that is using the APIs to create a digital experience, e.g. a developer or technical resource. | |
FRE | Fault Related Event | In the context of Assurance, an FRE is a type of unplanned event that impacts multiple users. This may be caused, for example, by damage to Chorus network equipment. |
JSON | Java Script Object Notation | An open-standard file format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects. |
NGA | Next Generation Access | A Chorus fibre product. |
RAML | Restful API Modelling Language | The language used to document API designs. |
REMI | Reactive Maintenance for Inside Plant | Faults raised by Spark or Nokia Operations Centres. |
REMO | Reactive Maintenance for Outside Plant | Faults raised by Retail Service Providers, Service Companies, or the public (network damage). |
REMS | Reactive Maintenance for Security | Faults raised by Chorus Security Operations Centre. |
RSP | Retail Service Provider | A business / organisation that is a reseller of Chorus products. |
Task | A task is the parent entity in the Work Request structure. A task is controlled by the Work Requestor. | |
URI | Uniform Resource Identifier | REST-based Web services are organised into resources. A resource is a chunk of related information, such as a user profile, a collection of updates (activities), or a global user ID (GUID). Each resource is identified by one or more Uniform Resource Identifiers (URIs). |
Work Request | A work request is the complete package of information about a piece of work. A Work Request is made up of a task and one or many activities. | |
Work Requestor | In the context of the Work Request Manager a work requestor is a Chorus work requesting system. | |
Work Supplier | In the context of the Work Request Manager a work supplier is a Service Company. |
